Information Discovery
- Identify and categorise unstructured information assets.
- Cleanse duplicate, obsolete and inappropriate content.
- Design enhanced File Plans, based on discovered themes.
- Reduce storage costs and support information governance.
Clarity provides information audit services and data cleansing solutions that are used to identify and categorise unstructured information assets, facilitate migration to formally managed records stores and support the implementation of information governance strategies.
During this service, we perform a full linguistic analysis of existing stored content and highlight the main areas of business that the content addresses, in terms of recurring themes. We also identify duplicate, near-duplicate, redundant, irrelevant and inappropriate data files. Experience has shown that typical levels of unnecessary replication vary from 20% to above 60%.
The themes, which are extracted during the analysis, are subsequently used to provide business content-driven guidance for relevant subject matter experts and support taxonomy development and implementation or enhancement of a File Plan, based on a Business Classification Scheme.

Use a proof of concept project to reveal the status of your content
During the proof of concept, Clarity analyses a sample of up to 100,000 files that are stored in a variety of formats within Windows folder structures and/or SharePoint team sites. We also run workshops to demonstrate use of the data discovery, thematic analysis, cleansing, file plan design and content migration utilities that are provided in the Active Navigation toolkit, based on the sample dataset. We then provide a report that describes the findings and recommendations and provides a business case to support information discovery and data cleansing.
